Henk Huizinga

In 1972, Henk Huizinga joined the KNMI, the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute, as an aviation observer at Schiphol Airport. Through internal studies, he became a meteorologist and provided aviation pilots with weather information through briefings. In addition to providing advice to aviation, Henk answered questions about general weather developments.

In 1990, in consultation with the KNMI, he decided to start NimosMeteo, in addition to his work as a meteorologist. The company specialises in providing courses to various target groups, including the aviation and maritime sectors.

Especially for nautical schools, Henk wrote the course book ‘Maritieme Meteorologie’ together with former colleague John Brouwer in 2006, which was later translated into English. In addition, the book ‘Luchtvaartmeteorologie’ (Aviation Meteorology) was published in 2019
